A few weeks ago, I shared some butterfly embellishments that I created with the Silhouette. This past weekend, I finally got to use them on a layout!
This layout commemorates my first morning back in Florida, moving home after five years in Nashville. My nephews were visiting and they were a nice welcome home gift! We took a bunch of photos that morning and even though I’ve already scrapbooked other shots on other pages, I keep finding reasons to scrapbook more of these photos. I consider this one to be an outtake, yet it perfectly portrays how I felt about being home.
I thought these cute Polaroid diecuts were screaming to be a banner. I added a little embellishment to each of the Polaroid frames. When I cut the butterflies, I also cut out my title in a lighter and darker shade of the same color. I used the darker one on the bottom to create a bit of a shadow. The banner needed some twine and I also added in some clothes pins, which I noticed are making a comeback in many new collections this spring. So glad I still had some from years ago. Funny how trends always seem to come back around a second time!
Did you fit in any crafting time this past weekend? It’s a good thing I finished this on Saturday because Sunday was kind of a waste of a day. I’m not a fan of the day the clocks spring forward. I love gaining an hour in the fall. I can do that any day of the year. But losing an hour? It’s such a pain.
OK, rant over. Until next year.
Thanks for stopping by today!
