Weekend Scrapbooking Update

It seems like my scrapbooking life has been put on hold as I try to get 6 months of Project Life updated in a weekend. The Twelve layouts I’m suposed to be working on for my Twelve Big Picture class? Nothing. No layouts yet. But I was making progress updating Project Life 2011 on Saturday morning…until the phone rang with potential buyers wanting to see the house. Seriously people, advanced notice would be nice. There is crafting going on here:

After I packed it all up and left the house for an hour, then two, then three when more showings were booked, Saturday just did not end up being my day to scrapbook. Sunday was better and I’m happy to report that my 2011 album is 75% updated. All the embellishing and placement is done. I am still working on the journaling and waiting for photos (I held off placing my order so I could add the first few weeks of January too!).

I hope everyone else had a productive weekend. I have a few things planned to work on in the evenings this week, if all goes well. I want to share my 2012 Project Life prep and the inexpensive organization/storage solution that I found. I know there is a ton of information out there on Project Life right now and people may be getting sick of it. But I also know many are giving it a try for the first time this year and are still looking for ways to make it work for them. More info to come later this week!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous week!

    • My 2012 kits came the other day. Now I’m anxious to finish this one so I can move on! I am keeping track in a journal too. It will be easier to catch up 2012 that way!

  2. Tammy you make me laugh! I’m glad Sunday went much better for you. I’m really looking forward to your post about PL organization. I’m still not sure what I want to do with regard to my kit. Leave it out, or no?

    • I would leave it out, but I can’t because of my house situation. But I found something that will help me keep it put away…..yet out at the same time. πŸ™‚ Working on photos of my inexpensive solution tonight! More info this week, I promise!

    • I love the idea of 12 but some days I can barely find 1 photo to take…..the idea of 12 on one day in my boring world is terrifying! πŸ™‚ So glad there are so many different projects out there to suit our own needs. It’s all good!

    • Oh Penny, try and stop me! My first RE Agent made a comment one time like, can’t you put that stuff on hold until this is settled? Um…..NO!!!!! πŸ˜€

  4. Sold my mom’s house this year and brother’s is now for sale so I’m over that “on call” business. Don’t you wish people liked a little “lived in” vs. showcase???? Seriously buyers, do YOU have a perfect home? Glad your weekend wasn’t a total loss. I need to look closer at your PL pages sometime. I’m a single too, and don’t see it fitting in–or else it will be 1/4 in. thick:) Thinking I might do it for my old old picks that never even got into albums.

    • I am so over selling the house. I’ve been ready to take it off the market and just rent it…..but I really want to sell, so I hold on. I get so much great feedback on how great the house is but people are able to find bigger houses for the same price so I always end up 2nd on their list. Or I get lowball offers from investors who know better. The new roof and new AC were not cheap, all the appliances are staying, hardwood floors and ceramic tile and granite counter tops and Tiffany style lamps and …..on and on. I’m NOT giving my house away. I have 5-6 showings a week. It’s exhausting. I cannot wait until this ordeal is over.

  5. Looks like so much fun, Tammy!
Although I’m sure the interruption wasn’t fun, but hopefully worth it πŸ™‚
Not sick of PL at all. I love reading posts on it and seeing others pages even though I am not doing it this year. Maybe next!

    • It’s hard to get excited about the showings any more. After 6 months of it. We have 4 interested parties right now but there is so much inventory on the market they keep looking and eventually find something for less somewhere else. Sigh. And no worries, more PL info to come. πŸ™‚

  6. How frustrating to be interrupted at the last minute on a Saturday in the middle of scrappy endeavors! Glad you made the best of it and were rewarded with a quiet Sunday.

    • People can be so rude! I mean, I want them to buy my house, but not on my weekend time. Sheesh. πŸ˜€

  7. Too bad you can’t scrapbook in the closet and shut the door and tell them not to open it or lock it!
Its been crazy here and I have not begun the 12 class yet. I have read a little and watched the video but that’s about it. There is a box with a pile of stuff but there seems to be no time. I am going to have to just make it a day and let everything else fall to the side!
    Hope your house sells fast!!!

    • I keep stuff in the closet but no, not enough room to scrapbook in there. If it was a full size closet I could, but it’s only a small hall closet size. Not enough room for me. Believe me, I KNOW how hard it is to find scrappy time when you go back to work. Oh how I know. I’m just now, 4 months in, finding myself wanting to wrap up everything else so I can go upstairs for 30 minutes before bed, to do anything scrapbooking. It’s good! πŸ™‚

  8. I’m so glad you got some time to work on your Project Life AND that the house was shown so many times . . . maybe something will happen soon. Looking forward to seeing your completed PL & plans for 2012.

  9. I have to chuckle as I thought I was the only one behind…very behind. I stopped at April. And my livingroom looked like that for 6 days, yup it took over 6 days to get caught up…not happening this year. I am hoping to stay on top of it.
I have to say though, that I didn’t have the kit.
