Weekend Challenge | July 2011

I can hardly believe that this is the first weekend of the month. Where exactly did June go?

We are entering the most festive time of the summer. The 4th of July is days away! Do you have exciting plans for the holiday weekend? I will be playing it by ear as my house is up for sale and I’m having showings left and right. On the one hand I’m glad and anxious for someone to love it and buy it. On the other hand, no BBQ at my house to celebrate the holiday… I’ll probably just go to the movies!

But as always, I’ll need to work in a little crafting time because it’s time for another weekend challenge! On the first weekend of the month, I issue myself a scrapbooking challenge to help me shake things up and try new things.

For my July challenge, I’ve decided that it’s time to put all the ephemera I’ve been working with this week to good use. My challenge will be to scrapbook a travel themed layout (I don’t do a lot of “theme” layouts so this really is a challenge for me!) and to include at least three the embellishments I created from this post, onto a page.

I traveled frequently back in the day, when I had the big corporate job as a real estate asset manager. I’ve never really scrapbooked about all the traveling I used to do. I’ve been mulling several ideas for a long time (OK, for years) and it’s about time I get them out of my head and into layouts!

I hope that you have a fantastic 4th of July weekend. I’ll be back on Tuesday to reveal the results of my challenge!

    • My house has been on the market for 30 days, lots of traffic but the biggest comment is “don’t like floor plan”. I don’t have a large dining room, it’s more like an alcove off the living room. That’s the issue. But several houses with my same floor plan have sold in the last few months, so someone is going to like it eventually.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised that the challenges have helped me so much and pushed me. I highly recommend them! 😀
