Weekend Challenge | How Much is Too Much?

I cannot believe that it’s April 1st. Where on earth did the month of March go?

Since it is the first weekend of a new month, it’s time for another weekend challenge! I’m really starting to look forward to this. And since I can pick whatever I want (that’s the fun of having a blog!), I know I will enjoy it.

I was browsing the challenge thread at Two Peas in a Bucket the other day and started looking through the list to see if I could find some inspiration for my challenge this month. I came across the How Much Is Too Much blog and really liked their current topic, What in a Name? I’ve never talked about my name before, even though I’ve done a ton of All About Me pages over the years. So my name will be the subject of my page.

The second part of my challenge is going to be using new products. I have such a hard time with this. (Have you ever seen my Use Your Stash posts? I have stuff that goes back to 1998…seriously). When new products come in, they tend to sit a bit before I actually use them. Not because I don’t want to use them but more because I’ve already got other layouts planned that I need to focus on or I’m working on one of my many ongoing projects. It takes me time to get around to new stuff.

Well, not this weekend. I just got an order from 2 Peas, with some fun new products, so this is what I will use :

These are some of my favorite papers from the Hello Luscious collection. And a few other things (like this new paper, these yummy buttons and  these pretty thickers) that I pulled to go with the pattern papers. I don’t think I would have ever put this color combo together — bright yellow, hot pink and lime green — but it works! I won’t use everything, but I’ll make most of my selections from this stash. Oh, I want to use this too:

I’ve had this punch for 6 months (at least) and I’ve never used it. Why is that? I need to start using these things when I buy them!

What about you? What are your plans for the weekend? I hope something crafty is included!

I also wanted to mention that my newsletter goes out this weekend. It includes exclusive content, a preview of upcoming content, monthly prompts and more. If you aren’t on the newsletter list, sign up now!

  1. Ooohhh, love the new product you’re going to use on your layout. I think a layout about your name is such a cool idea. It would be fun to do one for each of my girls too, now that I’m almost caught up on both of them! Have a great weekend!

  2. Wow!!!! I can come over and play at your place, lovely order. How is it that everything matches like a kit? 🙂 Stuff I buy never matches, cause I buy a bit of this and a bit of that! LOL xoxo (Oh, never mind, I see that you put together a kit yourself as Use Your Stash. LOL) Have fun!!!! xoxo

    • LOL, just the hello lucious came from the order, the other stuff was from my stash. But that would have been quite the achievement, wouldn’t it? Maybe I should start a kit club…… 😀

  3. I love looking at new products. That photo of your order makes me happy.

I can totally relate to needing to use what you buy. I was pretty proud of myself for buying a punch last week and using it this week. Hurray!

  8. Love your new stuff! This weekend I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things. I’m going to work on writing up blog posts for a few layouts so I can get back ahead of the game, then hopefully back to scrapbooking! We’re also trying to buy new pots for our garden this weekend and having a dinner party, so I’m not sure what I can manage!

    • One thing at a time! I love it when I get ahead but I can admit that it’s only happened a few times. Sounds like you have fun things planned! 🙂

    • Now that I have all the BFS blogs in my reader, it seems like I can never get caught up. I have to go tell it to mark everything as read. But I love to see as many as I can. 🙂
