Weekend Challenge | December 2011

It’s the first weekend of the month and that means it’s time for another weekend challenge!

December is finally here and if you are familiar with Tim Holtz, I’m sure you know all about his 12 Tags of Christmas. The annual series started yesterday. I love to look at his tags and read his tutorials, but I’ve never played along.

Until now. This year I’ve added quite a few new Ranger products to my collection so I feel that maybe, I’ll have the right products on hand to actually complete a few of these tags. Although, if Day 1 is any indication, I still do not have the right products because I don’t have a lot of the Sizzix dies. But I’m all about using your stash, so I’ll just make it work.

It’s not my goal to do every tag, but I do plan let Tim inspire me and work on a few this weekend. My style is very different from Tim’s so it will be fun to see how I can incorporate his techniques with my own flair. I’ll be back next week to share my results.

Are you following along with Tim’s 12 Tags of Christmas this year? He always gives out great prizes so you should definitely check it out his blog and add a comment every day for your chance to win.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. what a great tag! i am going to have to check these tags out–every year i hear about it but then i never go over and look! thanks for sparking my interest this year!

    have a great weekend

  2. I’m with Mary Pat, every year I hear about these tags but never check them out. I just might have to do that this year! Can’t wait to see yours, I feel like my style is much more like yours than his! Haha!

  3. I think Tim’s tag are wonderful, but I haven’t really been inspired to create them yet. I think mainly because I’m not sure what I would use them for, maybe on some layouts or for gifts or to make a banner. Hmm . . . might have to try a few tags after all.

  4. I have to say, that I have never played along either.
But some of his tags are pretty amazing! 🙂

  5. i love these tags. i do them for myself THEN i volunteer to teach a “class” at my LSS to help others work on these tags. doesnt hurt that my ranger stash rivals a store display and i absolutely love getting all those goodies out to make a “mess” with.

but i agree, adding in touches that make your tag yours and using what you have on hand is the best. not only do we get that wonderful feeling we get when we actually finish a project, BUT we also get that tinglie feeling from being resourceful too!

gl working on the tags! they really do boost the spirit of the holidays for me!

  6. I’m in the same boat as you, I don’t own a complete line of Ranger supplies and Tim’s stuff is beautiful, but not my style at all. Looking forward to seeing your tags and how you approach this!

  7. That tag looks cool! I’ve never played along or even seen his tags…I have, however, visited blogs that were playing along. I too don’t own much Ranger/Tim Holtz products at all. Not because they don’t look wonderful, I would love to have them, but I have a very limited Scrapbooking budget.
