After several weeks of unpacking, sorting, and organizing, I’m finally done. As excited as I am to focus on something other than getting a 1,945 sq ft/2 car garage house crammed into an 1,100 sq ft condo with no garage, my mojo has fled. I really do believe that creativity is a muscle that you have to exercise frequently to get the best results.
To get back into the swing of things, I spent a few hours yesterday just playing with things with no goal in mind. I like to think of this as warms-ups. Something fun to prepare my brain for the creativity I hope to cultivate this upcoming weekend. I especially love to work on cards during warm-ups. They are quick and easy to finish.
I am still in love with white on kraft. It’s my go-to background for cards when I don’t have any other ideas in mind. I went into my stash of paper scraps and used a stamp I had forgotten I had. The best part of my unpacking and reorganizing process has been rediscovering things I had forgotten about, like these older embellishments from October Afternoon. They had perfect sentiments for the front of my cards.
I had fun with this Hero Arts Chevron stamp. I stamped it quite a bit and punched some shapes just to have on hand to use in future projects.
Do you have any special plans for the long holiday weekend (Monday is a holiday here in the U.S.) ahead? My Dad’s birthday was this week but we are celebrating this weekend. I’ll go see my parents on Saturday for a dinner party. But other than a possible BBQ on Monday with friends, I’m going to catch up with the DVR and fire up Netflix and scrapbook all weekend. I’ve earned the break!
Thanks for stopping by today!
