Use Your Stash | Tickets

It’s been awhile since I did a Use Your Stash post. I’m thinking that’s because most of my stash is packed away in the garage right now… Just a guess. The good news is, I did a quick inventory the other day and actually found some items for future Use Your Stash posts, so stay tuned. More ideas are on the way!

This month, my layout was inspired by these cute tickets from the My Mind’s Eye So Sophie collection (sorry, they are discontinued). I’ve had these for several years and they were just patiently waiting in my stash for the right layout to come along. I know we all have a stash of tickets in our drawers and bins somewhere. So get some of yours out and try one of these ideas on a page this weekend!

1. Page Embellishment

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Cream Puff. Pattern Paper Cosmo Cricket Snorkle Umbrellas, Echo Park Lemon Drop Small Dot. Embellishments: Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores buttons, crochet thread, Cosmo Cricket red Tiny Type stickers, My Mind’s Eye So Sophie tickets and journaling card. Tools: Martha Stewart small butterfly punch, EK Success medium flower punch, Cat’s Eye Chestnut Roan chalk ink.

This is the obvious idea, but in case you are trying to reinvent the wheel and come up with some totally new idea, how about just adding them to the page? These tickets are the perfect accent for pages like this, with photos of fair rides. My page includes two photos of my brother and I as kids and two photos of my nephews doing the same thing just a few years ago. This is the perfect time of year to get these fair or amusement park pages documented!

Here’s another idea from Julia S, with the same idea of using tickets as an embellishment, in the layout My Blessings:

2. Frame a photo

I love this idea from jessicadesigns in the layout Tickets:

She’s taken the Step Right Up paper from Imaginisce and cut out the tickets individually to frame the photo. If you have a lot of tickets, this is a great idea to use the all up in one layout!

3. Add tickets to cards

Don’t forget to use tickets on your cards too. The small nature of tickets makes them the perfect scale for cards. I love how ltllea23 embellished her card Good Times are Even Better with some stamped tickets.

If you don’t have any tickets in your stash, but you do have one of Tim Holtz’s ticket stamps (like Admit One or the Calendar ticket) and the Sizzix Ticket Strip, consider making your own this weekend instead!

4. Use them in a title

Another fun way to use tickets on your layout is to stamp on them or add alphabet stickers to create a fun title. I love what Tammy Mitchell did in the layout Del Mar Fair:

5. Use them to hold other embellishments

Tickets can be used in embellishment clusters to help ground other accents to the page. Any kind of cluster will draw attention to smaller items, the way roree did in her card Holly Jolly:

I hope this gives you some fun ideas to use up the tickets in your stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!
