Tough Guys | A Scrapbook Layout

Happy Wednesday! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

I’ve got a quick layout to share with you using my favorite new glimmer mist color: Route 66. The base color is like a creamy white but the glimmer color is black so the effect is like asphalt. It’s perfect for boy layouts!

Layout Inspiration: Fun nephew photos

My sister-in-law shared these photos she took of my oldest nephew with me. Michael doesn’t usually ham it up for photos like my youngest nephew does, so I was really excited to see these shots. I love how he’s playing on these statues at the All American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. Absolutely scrapbook worthy!

The Details

Searching through my paper stash, I found this older (discontinued), athletic line from We R Memory Keepers. The black background was perfect and I knew I wanted to use that die-cut Bazzill paper. It was the perfect color, but it really needed something. Enter Route 66 Glimmer Mist.

I spritzed on a few layers of the mist and it added the right amount of distressing without going overboard. I added some mist to the circle title block as well, to mute the bright white. I added some We R Memory Keepers foil lace that coordinated with the papers to the title block. The “Tough guys” words were cut out with my Silhouette. The word stickers come from a classic Making Memories Wordfetti sticker sheet.

Final Notes

Nothing earth shattering here, just a quick layout to celebrate some fun photos of my nephew. This could have been another one of my Random Observations layouts because I don’t really have any details about the day or what was going on (because I wasn’t there). When I get awesome photos like this of my nephews, I can still scrapbook them and honor them even if I don’t have all the who, what, where, when, why, and how details.

How often are you scrapbooking photos just for the fun of it?
