I am back today to share the layout I started last week.
I saw this ice cream quote on Pinterest recently and thought it would be a fun page title. Luckily one of my nephews is a die hard ice cream lover, so it wasn’t hard to pull together a few photos.
In fact, I found six different photos that all would have been great. I thought about doing a two page layout. I even lined up the photos, tried some different designs. But I didn’t love it. There are times when I know a 2-pager will work and it’s what the photos and story call for. But other times, I struggle with them. Why pile on a bunch of photos when these three tell the story?
The News Flash card is in the card pack from Simple Stories 24/Seven collection. It was the perfect place to put the title. The grid background paper comes from Basic Grey’s Hey Boy paper pad (Basic Grey’s collections lately have been hit or miss with me, but I have all three of the Hey collections and I love them. Great papers in these pads.) The name card on top is from My Mind’s Eye.
Just simple embellishments here. A few punches from the red polka dot pattern paper, a border of flags punched with one of my newest punches, a few stickers from Simple Stories first Sn@p collection, and a few gems dotted around to finish it off.
I love making connections with random photos like this and bringing them together on a page to celebrate something unique (or very universal!) about my nephew. When was the last time you created a layout highlighting something special about your loved ones?
Thanks for stopping by today!
