Ten Fun Years | A Scrapbook Layout

It is hard to believe that my nephew Kyle turned ten yesterday. Now both of my nephews are in double digits and making this Aunt feel like time is just passing way too fast.

I had to commemorate the occasion with a special layout. I did a similar layout for my nephew Michael when he turned 10 and I love the juxtaposition of the three photos at different ages across the page.

I am in love with this new All About A Boy collection from Echo Park. The colors are rich, the patterns are right on trend and it’s just fun!

I loved this paper with all the game spinners. I cut several out with my Spellbinders nested circle dies to use as the main embellishment on the layout. I also thought some confetti would be fun (even though it’s not your traditional kind of birthday layout) so I created a vellum pocket, filled it with confetti and layered it under the row of photos for a subtle detail. The middle photo provided the perfect space to add the numbers and start my title.

I still need to add my journaling. There’s plenty of room in the white space, but I haven’t decided if I want to do it with my handwriting or type something up. I’ve written directly on a few layouts lately and as much as I love how Shimelle always handwrites on her layouts, I always mess up and find fault with mine. On this layout, my handwriting would be highly prominent so I may just opt to type it. Decisions, decisions…

Any fun plans for the upcoming weekend?

Thanks for stopping by today!

  13. Great layout – I like the game spinners, too. They are perfect for this layout.

I now have a nephew who’s grown with a son of his own and a niece who recently married – the years definitely went by too fast. My Pun’kin is getting her driving permit & the twins will be in double digits in less than two years – YIKES!

It has clean lines, you know what the subject is, even without your journaling.
I really like that you popped the middle photo up as well.
    Great layout.
