Talk to Me | A Scrapbook Layout

Do you ever come across products that inspire you to find specific photos? That’s what happened to me with this one!

A scrapbook layout featuring high school friends and the story of marathon phone conversations.

Layout Inspiration

The May kit from Scraptastic featured all of these super fun goodies from Pink Paislee’s Switchboard collection. I am not a phone talker. Anymore. But once upon a time…

The theme of the papers made me feel really nostalgic, so I dug up some photos from high school. This layout is about my best friend growing up and our marathon phone conversations.

The Details

I had to turn my photos to black and white as they are all from the early 90’s and the colors were not compatible with these products. I embossed a kraft tag that came in the kit with numbers to reinforce all of the various numbers all over the page.

I added our phone numbers (blurred for obvious reasons here) to the phone journaling spot in the top right corner (with my trusty Pebbles giant roller stamp) and I added our hometown area code – “509” – to the bottom right side.

The ephemera pack was full of fun phone images and sayings. This one was really fun to embellish. It’s one of those stories I might never have captured had it not been for the theme of the paper. I’m not one to get too themey with my layouts, but I really love how this turned out.

Who else spent hours and hours on the phone with their best friend in high school?

Thanks for stopping by today!

    • Thanks, Mary Jo! Now I know why people pay people who know what they are doing to run their websites! LOL. Well, it wasn’t that bad but took me longer to get it done than most, I am sure. 🙂

  5. Wow, the blog looks awesome. Great colors. Missed seeing your layouts, you were the very first blog I discovered. Sue Althouse and Ashli Oliver were right after. I’ve learned a lot here. Anyway, great layout. I love the color combos and the Switchboard line goes perfectly with your topic. Just great. Michelle t
