Product Review | Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin File Folder Tab

Have you seen this new Fiskars punch designed by Jenni Bowlin?

It’s a file folder tab. At first I thought…”Oh, I can create those myself with the Silhouette.” I don’t need to spend the money on another tool.

And then I started seeing this cute punch pop up on projects.

With these cute file folder tabs on the brain, I knew it would be the perfect touch for a layout I was working on. I love my Silhouette but I don’t use it every time I scrapbook. It was in the closet and my computer was downstairs. It would have taken 20 minutes to get everything set up to cut a file folder tab for my layout. Way too much effort.

I’m sure you can imagine what I did next: I purchased the punch.

And I love it. I highly recommend it. These squeeze punches are so easy to use. You can punch over and over and your hand does not get tired. Sometimes when you have a more intricate design, you really have to press hard to make sure all of the edges are punched. Not so with this one, the cuts are nice and clean with no rough edges.

The punched tab is not very big but gives you enough room to write a date or a name. Or, there’s enough room to use some small letter stickers for a word. And I had another idea, an instant brainstorm: this tab would be perfect for something I needed for Project Life!

More on that and a tutorial to come on Tuesday.
