One Little Word Reveal | 2011

After some dictionary and thesaurus consulting, soul searching and listening, I have arrived at my One Little Word for 2011:

It took me longer than usual to find my word this year. I had some ideas and started doing searches at Thesaurus.com, but nothing really fit until I saw QUEST. And then I felt the whoosh. You know, that feeling you get when you stumble on the exact right thing. It’s my 2011 word.

I am on a quest for many things in my life – for instance, getting back to work in a full-time position with a salary and health insurance. I needed an action word for 2011 because procrastination just won’t work this year.  Since I have a tendency to take things too seriously, I wanted a fun word too, one that evokes a feeling of adventure. And that is exactly how QUEST makes me feel.

The other word that really resonates within me right now is CHOICES. We all have a million choices to make each day – about when to wake up and go to bed, what to eat, where to go, how to spend our 24 hours each day. I have to keep reminding myself that the more good and healthy choices I make, the better my life will be overall. So along with my various QUESTs for the year, I’ll also be contemplating my CHOICES and hope that I keep moving in the right direction.

The picture above is the first digital download page from Ali Edwards’ class One Little Word at Big Picture Classes. It’s the opening album page. I’m excited to get started, to discover the possibilities and to make QUEST a big part of my 2011.

Happy New Year to everyone!

  5. Great Word!! My word for 2011 is Clarity! I am hoping maybe I can do this with Project Life this year! I have so many albums and things I would like to add it to the first of each month in my Project Life Binder…hmm…I wonder if I’d have enough room and if the pages they say to pay will fit in it…any advice would be great if anyone knows 🙂
