I have a quick layout to share today. I completed this Green layout for my Colour. Or is it Color? class at Big Picture Classes. My oldest nephew turned 10 last week, so this layout is all about him. Because I organize my printed photos by category, it didn’t take me more than a few minutes to find these three photos.
The original assignment called for a group of embellishments through the middle of the layout. I decided to go minimal with this one and keep the focus on the photos. Instead, I added some tone on tone border punches to the bottom third of my layout. To ground the title, I used some Tim Holz Film Strip Ribbon.
The original layout didn’t have any journaling. For this milestone birthday, I wanted to add some thoughts, so the journaling is hidden. I don’t do a lot of hidden journaling but this time, I just didn’t like how journaling strips looked and I didn’t want to add a block as an afterthought. It really worked best as a hidden block for this layout. Lastly, I wanted to use the alphabet paper because Michael was obsessed with letters and numbers when he was a toddler.
I’m still playing with my Sew Easy tool. I’m working on a few other things too and will share some other projects this week!
