Ah yes, I was able to do complete a layout from start to finish on my day off (thanks to a sketch from Scrapbook Generation!).
I’m really loving the new 24/Seven collection from Simple Stories! The colors are perfect for photos of my nephews and with the black accents in the paper, I was able to abandon the white backgrounds I’ve been using so much. The colors and the photo really pop on that black!
Quick tip: In this collection, the 4×6 cards have a printed phrase or journaling card on one side, but pattern paper designs on the other side. The larger arrow print was on the back of one of the 4×6 cards I knew I wouldn’t use. Likewise, I used my new flag punch on two of the 3×4 cards to mix in more patterns. Having these cards saved me from purchasing several 12×12 sheets of paper when all I really wanted was a small pieces for accents.
I double punched stars into the cork flags for more interest and added some wood veneer stars around the page for repetition. And lastly, I stamped the wrong date directly onto that journaling card. To fix it, I stamped the correct date on a matching scrap of paper and trimmed it to fit in the space.
Do you have any cool tips for solving your layout mistakes?
