Are those gorgeous warm, blue sky fall days still called Indian Summer? That’s what we called it where I grew up. These photos of my nephews playing in the leaves with colorful trees in the background reminded me of those golden fall days from my childhood, so I couldn’t help but title the layout just that.
I shared a post the other day about creating these button flower embellishments and this is the page I made them for. I didn’t want to add fall leaves as the embellishment because there was already plenty of autumn going on in the pattern papers. I took inspiration from the Fall Floral pattern paper from Little Yellow Bicycle and used flowers instead. I also cut the fun Chevron Quilt pattern paper along the zig zag to give me a border to tuck the photos into.
Because the pattern paper was so busy, I trimmed the same Walnut Cream cardstock I used in the background into two tag. They provided the right spot to add my title. I didn’t want to over do it with the embellishments. Just a few buttons and ribbon. I love how the buttons look with these rich colors. Gives the page even more of a cozy, autumn feel. I dotted a few other buttons around the title. I considered bringing in some smaller enamel dots but in the end, left them off. Instead, I added two short ribbons to the ends of the tags and felt that was all that was needed.
How did Friday sneak up so fast? The weeks are really flying by right now, just at the time of year when you want them to slow down and savor them the most. Now that I’m working a normal work week again, Friday is my favorite night of the week. Two whole days in front of me to do with as I please…love that!
Thanks for stopping by today!
