In honor of arriving in Florida, I thought I would share a winter layout I finished before I moved. Now that cold winters are no longer in my future, I find that it’s much more enjoyable to work on snowy layouts.
For the design, I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch from Book 7 of Sketches For Scrapbooking (changed up of course, to fit my needs). It’s been a long time since I have created a 2-page layout without a Scrapbook Generation sketch. I love how their sketches flow and since I am 2-page challenged, I need all the help I can get.
I loved the colors in this Echo Park collection. I couldn’t resist picking up a few sheets, with these photos in mind. My youngest nephew loves the snow, while my oldest nephew is less than thrilled by the white stuff (I’m glad I’m not the only one!). The journaling lines are from My Mind’s Eye. Love when stamp sets include something so versatile like journaling lines. I’ll be using that set over and over!
I kept the embellishments fairly simple. I still have a stash of the old school Heidi Swapp ghost snowflake embellishments, so I’m always happy to get a few more on another snow page. I cut the title with my Silhouette and sewed a few buttons to rounded squares to finish off the page. I love how it turned out!
Crafting posts are now resuming, though I’m having some trouble finding the perfect spot to spread out my stuff without interrupting the flow of the house or being in the way. The bed is just not a good scrapbooking space, so I must figure out something soon.
Thanks for stopping by today!
