I Love Winter | A Scrapbook Layout

In honor of arriving in Florida, I thought I would share a winter layout I finished before I moved. Now that cold winters are no longer in my future, I find that it’s much more enjoyable to work on snowy layouts.

For the design, I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch from Book 7 of Sketches For Scrapbooking (changed up of course, to fit my needs). It’s been a long time since I have created a 2-page layout without a Scrapbook Generation sketch. I love how their sketches flow and since I am 2-page challenged, I need all the help I can get.

I loved the colors in this Echo Park collection. I couldn’t resist picking up a few sheets, with these photos in mind. My youngest nephew loves the snow, while my oldest nephew is less than thrilled by the white stuff (I’m glad I’m not the only one!). The journaling lines are from My Mind’s Eye. Love when stamp sets include something so versatile like journaling lines. I’ll be using that set over and over!

I kept the embellishments fairly simple. I still have a stash of the old school Heidi Swapp ghost snowflake embellishments, so I’m always happy to get a few more on another snow page. I cut the title with my Silhouette and sewed a few buttons to rounded squares to finish off the page. I love how it turned out!

Crafting posts are now resuming, though I’m having some trouble finding the perfect spot to spread out my stuff without interrupting the flow of the house or being in the way. The bed is just not a good scrapbooking space, so I must figure out something soon.

Thanks for stopping by today!

    • Thank you! And I know…if not for the adorable papers, I would never even do winter layouts. 😉

  2. Hey, Tammy! Glad to read that you arrived in FL safely!
Love EP and your two page layout 🙂 Sound like you won’t miss the snow too much – don’t blame you! LOL!! I ask myself why I’m still in Chicago during the winter time…well, not this year! HA!

    • No, won’t be missing the snow at all. Not that I got much in Nashville, but even that was too much for me. The summers are brutal (how well I know) but the other 5 months of the year so, so make up for it. Hope you’ll be able to get away from the Chicago winters eventually! 🙂

  4. I’m cracking up that the first layout you post after your Florida move, is a snow layout! 🙂 It looks fantastic, and even more so since we only got an inch and a half of the white stuff this year. Ha! I hope you find a good place to scrap and spread out soon, the bed is no good, it kills the back!

    • Oh yes, the irony was intentional! 🙂 I’ll be able to use the kitchen island when the folks are otherwise occupied. Tomorrow night they are playing cards somewhere so I will be taking over the kitchen for as long as I can! Can’t wait.

  8. Was that from this winter? We sure never had that much snow this year! Great 2-pager, I rarely attempt one without a Scrapbook Generation sketch close by!

    • No, not from this year. Even in Chicago where my brother is, they didn’t get much snow. I hope SG keeps bringing on new sketches. What would we do without them??? 🙂
