Gilt Trip | A Giveaway

Welcome to November and a very happy TGIF to everyone.

How about we change things up on this lovely fall Friday with a giveaway?

Have you been following the exploits of Carmela Bertrand over the years? Our favorite scrapbook store owner is back with her crime solving talents in this eleventh installment of the popular scrapbooking mystery series from Laura Childs.

“When a Louisiana businessman gets an early release from prison, his wife throws a rip-roaring Get Out of Jail Free party for him. But sometime during the swirl of partying, drinking, and Zydeco music, the guest of honor is brutally murdered. Scrapbook maven Carmela just can’t say no when the grieving widow presses her into service. But a second murder, strange goings-on in the bayou, and an extravagant Cakewalk Ball just might change her mind!”

These books are a fun read. Not only do we get to explore the French Quarter and meet some interesting and quirky characters, but the pages are scattered with scrapbooking tips and a few mouthwatering recipes too.

Two lucky readers will win a hardback copy of  the book. To enter, just comment on this post. And if you’ve read a good book lately, tell me what it is — I need some new reads!

I will leave the comments open until 8 PM Eastern time on Wednesday November 6th. Winners will be selected randomly and announced Thursday morning, November 7th, 2013.

Thanks for stopping by today and good luck!

  1. Looks like a fun read. Love the clever title. My latest read was Defending Jacob. A murder mystery.

  2. Oh, I would love to read this book! My nook is broken, so I actually haven’t read anything in quite some time. The last thing I read was Texas Gets It Right, a book given to me by a co-worker. Thanks for the chance!

  3. Oh, a book giveaway – pick me! :>)

I’ve read tons of great stuff this year. For fiction, I’d recommend Beautiful Girl or Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker; non-fiction would be Outliers or Quiet: The Power Of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.

  4. Oooh I read one of her books a long time ago and loved it. So fun to mix scrapbooking and mysteries.

  5. Last book I read was a murder mystery by author Stephan White. Great book from a great series.

  6. Ooh! I haven’t read any of these. Sounds wonderful. Thanks for the chance.

  7. I have read all of this series, except this one, and love them! The last book I read, which I finished last Sunday, was from Laura’s newest series about three Cackleberry Club. It’s another mystery series, fun and quick too. The first is called Eggs in Purgatory. I’ve just started the second one in the series, Bedeviled Eggs 😉

  8. How fun!
I tried to start a new book this past week. It was great but the time factor is getting in the way of enjoying the book. The Prayer Box by Lisa Wingate.

  9. I keep meaning to pick up these types of books as I hear how so many enjoy them.
I love to read all types of books.
I remember reading one about a quilt shop and how the lady had to repair this very old quilt and how the quilt had these powers over whom was near it.
Sorry I can’t remember the name of the book.

  10. Oh my I didn’t realize Ms. Childs was up to #11 in the series. I’ve only read the first five, but I’ve enjoyed them immensely. I’d better get into gear. I got sidetracked into spy thrillers this past year or so, the last good one I read was the Ex-pats by Chris Pavone.

  11. Oh, good! I didn’t miss it!
I have read all of the books in the series so far I think.
I need to go back and double check.
    But I haven’t read this one 🙂

  12. Thanks for the chance to win this book. I would love to read it.

  13. Hi Tammy. I stumbled onto your blog a few months ago, I’m fairly new to scrapbooking and I follow your blog and enjoy it. Great inspiration and I love going thru your older posts, lots of inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win the book. michelle
