My Europe photos were inspiring me over the weekend and I was able to complete another 2-page layout. Were it not for my trip to Europe almost three (three???) years ago, I don’t think I’d have anything else to create 2-pagers with right now. Once again, this one was inspired by a Scrapbook Generation sketch that I adapted to fit my photos.
For this one, I dug deep into the stash. I’ve had these papers from Making Memories for years and I’ve always loved them. (I think it was a Michael’s collection and I don’t remember the name of it.) I’m so glad that I finally had some photos that compliment them. And it’s a reminder that when you really love something, don’t be too quick to toss it out just because you haven’t used it yet. I also had a set of flower embellishments and I kept them along with the paper so I wouldn’t forget to use them when I finally got to the paper. I love the happy colors here and how it turned out.
This layout will introduce the Rome section my trip, so I added a memorabilia pocket to capture all of the receipts and tickets and post cards I haven’t used on other projects. I added a row of washi tape in the bottom third of the layout to give me a place to ground the flower embellishments. All it needed was a few strips of journaling to simply sum up exactly what we did that night.
When was the last time you dug deep into your stash and played with some papers you’ve had for years and years? If you keep things that long, I encourage you to play with something old and get it out of your stash and onto a page. It feels really good to use it up!
Thanks for dropping by today!
