This past Saturday marked the first day of Autumn. I know. So soon??? It’s right about now that I will start to miss Tennessee. Just a for little bit, if only for October.
Autumn in Florida is pretty much like summer in Florida. The flowers are still blooming and the sun heats into the 90’s every day. In October the humidity will go down and the afternoon storms will end. Then in November we’ll get overnight lows in the 60’s and highs in the 80’s, ushering in the most heavenly weather of the year.
But just because it still looks like summer outside, doesn’t mean it can’t feel like fall inside!
In honor of the first day of fall, I put out some of my fall decorations (the Halloween decorations will follow in a few weeks!). As I was re-arranging things, the idea for this page sprang to mind.
The Harvest Lane collection from Simple Stories is so fun to work with! I love the colors and while it’s a fall collection, there are flowers and gingham patterns, so it’s well suited for my Florida photos too.
I didn’t use a sketch for this design. I wanted to divide the page in half with the current photo of my community on top and the inside photos showing the sights and smells of my condo on the bottom half. This page was great for stash busting as I used some older flowers, decorative brads and some velvet ribbon from my stash.
Other: October Afternoon orange polka dot paper, American Crafts Bones thickers, Prima Flowers, Paper Studio and Making Memories brads, velvet ribbon.
Now that it’s feeling more like fall, I’m ready for the Pumpkin Spice latte, pumpkin muffins and anything else with some fall flavors! I’d also like to get out the sweaters, but that really is wishful thinking because I won’t need them until December.
Are you seeing the signs of autumn (or spring?) where you live?
Thanks for stopping by today!
