Two Thousand and Thirteen is quickly coming to a close.
And what a roller coaster ride it’s been for me. So many low, low, lows and now a few highs. In fact, I’m pretty happy with how this year is ending. As opposed to how it began, anyway. I am in such a better place…physically, mentally, spiritually…and in other ways too.
Since it has been such a wild ride, I wanted to do a year in review type of layout to highlight some of the notable moments. I’ve wanted to do this since 2011 when I pinned a layout from this post from Kimberly Kalil. But 2011 and 2012 were not good years. This year was different. Good things are happening and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the momentum continues into 2014.
The more I use it, the more I love my flag punch. Originally I thought I would add journling strips with numbers, but as I started building the page and added the 3×4 cards to the top, I needed something more light and airy and whimsical at the bottom. I printed my journaling and punched it with the flag punch and hung them on a twine banner to balance against the top of the layout.
All of the background papers are from the Chalkboard collection from We R Memory Keepers and the journaling was punched from some older Basic Grey background papers. I used some My Mind’s Eye twine to attach the banner. Once I had that in place, I added in a few fun details. Grey twine bows. The star clips in a coordinating color. Wood veneer pieces. Some flowers.
I love how this layout turned out and feel like it’s the perfect one to be the last one I created in 2013. What is the last project you created in 2013? Or are you still working on it?
Thanks for stopping by today!
